Program Schedule: Please note that the itinerary below is for reference only, and is subject to change based on train schedules, your physical condition, pace, and any unforeseen circumstances.

Accommodations: Our prices for two or more guests are based on double or triple occupancy per tent. If you prefer a single tent, an additional supplement of $489.00 will apply.

Train Stations and Schedules: Please be aware that train stations and schedules are subject to change based on availability. Additionally, due to rain, the Poroy train station is closed from January to the end of April each year, our friendly staff will meet and escort you from the Ollantaytambo train station. 

Walking sticks are included for your convenience, ensuring added support and comfort during your glamping adventure. Note: walking sticks are not permitted at Machu Picchu in order to preserve this iconic site.

Permits Required: 500 permits are issued per day, half for the tourists and half for the porters. You can only hike the Inca Trail with a licensed travel agency like ourselves. We recommend booking at least 6 months in advance so we can guarantee your preferred date.

Upon your arrival in Lima, a representative will warmly greet you at the airport and accompany you to your hotel. During the transfer, they will review your itinerary and address any questions or special requests you may have.

Day 6ABOVE THE CLOUDS: ACROSS THE PACHACUTEC PASS

Awaken to the serenity of the Peruvian Andes and begin your day with a rejuvenating open-air yoga session surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. After a nourishing gourmet breakfast, set off on the most rewarding day of the luxury Lares Trek with a gradual ascent toward the majestic Pachacutec Pass, the highest point of the journey. Along the trail, admire the crystal-clear Azulcocha and Suerococha lagoons, dramatic snow-capped peaks, and picturesque Andean landscapes while local families and children warmly greet you along the way.

Upon reaching the spectacular Pachacutec Pass, take time to celebrate your accomplishment while soaking in panoramic views of glaciers, valleys, shimmering lakes, and llamas roaming freely in their natural habitat.

From there, descend toward the tranquil Qoyalaycocha Lagoon, where our chef and attentive staff await with an elegant gourmet lunch served against an unforgettable alpine backdrop.

In the afternoon, continue to the exclusive Quiswarani luxury campsite, where comfort and authentic cultural experiences blend seamlessly. Meet local Andean families, browse beautifully handcrafted woolen textiles, and then indulge in a hot shower and relaxing massage to restore body and mind. Conclude the evening with an exquisite gourmet dinner before retreating to your beautifully appointed luxury tent beneath the sparkling Andean sky.

Day 7FROM SACRED PEAKS TO THE CLOUD FOREST

This morning, rise and shine with a nurturing breakfast, to boost your spirits and energy for the final leg of the Lares trek. Begin hiking to the second pass with surprising scenery of the majestic Peruvian Andes, until you reach the Huillquijassa Pass (4400 m. / 14435.7 ft.) to gaze at the sparkling pristine lagoons and lakes. Then descend for about 2.5 hours to the town of Cuncani (3900 m. /12795.3 ft.), accompanied by adorable herds of alpacas, llamas, and sheep grazing in their natural habitat. Our transport will be waiting to take you to the soothing Lares hot springs (3260 m. / 10695.5 ft.) for a dip into the hot springs to ease your muscles, body, and mind.

Following a calming soak, it’s time to delight your palette with a flavorful picnic lunch in the outdoors. After lunch, it’s time to say farewell to our outstanding View Signature Travel staff, and thank them for their first-class royal attention and quality service. Board your private transport to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. Arrive and our guide will escort you to your hotel to enjoy its amenities and dinner which is included.

Day 8CITADEL IN THE CLOUDS - MACHU PICCHU

Take a ride on the shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to the magical Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Get a feeling of exhilaration as you approach the iconic Machu Picchu (2430 m. / 7972.4 ft.) coming face to face with the perfect citadel built by the Incas. Delve into the history and theories retold by your well-versed guide as you experience magic strolling by the many temples and corridors. After a mesmerizing time, exit the mystic Machu Picchu and walk to the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge to have a succulent Peruvian meal a la carte at the Tampu Restaurant. Following an exclusive lunch, return to town to board the iconic Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo train station. The journey begins early in the morning with a scenic drive through traditional Andean villages and rolling highland scenery. Upon arrival at the trailhead, begin your ascent through rugged mountain terrain, where every step reveals increasingly spectacular panoramic views.
