Luxury Royal Lares Trail – 4 Days – A High-End Experience

Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel to catch the bus to the citadel for a 30 mins ride and, if weather allows it, see the sunrise over this Lost City of the Incas.

Machu Picchu (2430 m. / 7972.4 ft) will definitely leave you speechless as it is a true evidence of the Incas dexterity in engineering and architecture.After the guided tour, enjoy a delightful lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Later you will take the bus departing back to Aguas Calientes, to proceed to board your train. Upon arrival, a representative will collect you in our private vehicle and take you to your hotel in Cusco.

Suggestions & Restrictions

  • On Day 3, epending on your physical state and if you prefer to have more time at the hotsprings, you can opt to arrange a private and direct 1 hour transportation towards Lares hotsprings. Please note that there are additional costs involved for this extra service.


  • Also on Day 3, we will book a Hotel in Aguas Calientes town, if you prefer Belmond Sanctuary Lodge then there will be itinerary modifications that will incur in additional costs as you will need to arrive to Aguas Calientes very much earlier.


  • Please consider that our prices from 2 people onward are based on double and triple accommodation, if you would like to have a single tent then the supplement will be of $ 249.00 per person.


  • Train stations and train schedules are subject to availability, also due to rainy season Poroy train station is closed from January to April of each year.


  • The walking sticks are not included, but if you prefer we can arrange to provide you a pair of basic poles (Standard Brand) without any charges; you just need to ask in advance to your travel specialist.


  • If you would like to climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain, please take in mind that is an unguided hike. If you are interested, please consult with your travel specialist as we need to check availability far in advance.

Itinerary: Luxury Royal Lares Trail – 4 Days

Day 1 Cusco - Calca - Cancha Cancha (L, D)

“Embark on an unforgettable Sacred Valley adventure. Begin with breakfast at your Cusco hotel, then journey with our expert guide to Calca town (1.5 hrs) and Huaran (30 mins). Hike 3.5 hours alongside the Cancha Cancha river, discovering traditional Andean crops and queuña forests. Lunch at Piedra Grande (3780m) precedes a 2.5-hour trek to Cancha Cancha luxury campsite (3980m).

Day 2 Cancha Cancha – Pachacutec Pass - Quiswarani (B, L, D)

Relaxing sunrise start session, challenges and efforts; lagoons and incredible experiences

  • “Start the day with a yoga session and an energetic breakfast. Then, undertake the challenge to the Pachacutec Pass (4690m), the highest point of the trek. Enjoy breathtaking views of lagoons such as Azulcocha and Suerococha. Receive greetings and words of encouragement from local children and families.
    Celebrate the achievement with champagne and enjoy the descent to Qoyalaycocha Lake (4140m) for lunch. Arrive at Quiswarani luxury camp (3902m) and:

Day 3 Quiswarani - Lares Hot Spring - Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)

New day of amazing landscapes, lagoons and lakes and walks with companion camelids to finish with relaxing baths

“Following breakfast, continue hiking to the second pass, Huillquijassa (4400m). Marvel at breathtaking scenery and pristine lagoons. Descend 2.5 hours to Cuncani (3900m), accompanied by gracious herds of alpacas, llamas, and sheep.
Next:
  • Relax in Lares hot springs (3260m)
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch
  • Bid farewell to the trekking crew
Finally:
  • Embark on a 3.5-hour ride to Ollantaytambo train station
  • Board the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes (2070m)
  • Check-in to your hotel and coordinate with your guide for the next day

Day 4 Aguas Calientes- Machu Picchu – Cusco (B, L)

“Start the day with an early pickup from your hotel to catch the 30-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu. Witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Lost City of the Incas (weather permitting).
