Through these 4 days, you will enjoy diverse typical Andean sceneries, from hiking nearby pristine rivers along with enchanted Andean forests, witness the tranquility of the highlands almost in complete solitude, and appreciating the boundaries between the earth and the sky where it seems that you can touch the clouds. This trek that ends in Machu Picchu is very challenging due to the altitude gain, high altitudes, 7 steep summits, and length of hiking. Also known as the Hidden Inca Trail or the Super Inca Trail is less traveled trek.

Suggestions & Restrictions

  • In order to provide you a superb personalized attention, it is vital that you send us your rooming list distribution in advance.
  • On day 3, we will book a Hotel in Aguas Calientes town, if you prefer Belmond Sanctuary Lodge then there will be itinerary modifications that will incur in additional costs as you will need to arrive to Aguas Calientes earlier.
  • Also on day 3 and depending on your interests, it is possible to arrange a visit to Ollantaytambo archaeological site before your train departure. Please note that there are additional costs involved for this extra service.
  • Please consider that our prices from 2 people onward are based on double and triple accommodation, if you would like to have a single tent then the supplement will be of $ 249.00 per person.
  • Train stations and train schedules are subject to availability, also due to rainy season Poroy train station is closed from January to April of each year.
  • The walking sticks are not included, but if you prefer we can arrange to provide you a pair of basic poles (Standard Brand) without any charges; you just need to ask in advance to your travel specialist.
  • If you would like to climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain, please take in mind that is an unguided hike. If you are interested, please consult with your travel specialist as we need to check availability far in advance.

Itinerary

Day 1CUSCO – LECHERÍA– LLUCHANI (L, D)

And the adventure begins, be prepared for efforts, challenges and beauty

After breakfast at your Cusco hotel (or box breakfast to enjoy it along the way), our expert guide will assist you and transfer you to our trekking starting point called the Lecheria (3240 m. / 10629.9 ft.)

The trek starts uphill for 3 hours through the ravine and parallel to the river, passing traditional Andean crops and livestock and queuña trees (polylepis). Reach Quewñapampa (4100 m. / 13451.4 ft.) which is our lunch place, our chef will be awaiting us with a nutritious and delightful picnic lunch in the solitude of this magic area.

After lunch, continue the hike for 3 hours and arrive at the luxury campsite called Lluchani (4342 m. /14245.4 ft.) for a 30-40 minute yoga session. Then, relish with a hot shower and a session of relaxing massages to help us relax and loosen our muscles. Following, visit our dining tent for a fantastic gourmet dinner prepared with food from the region by our experts chefs. After dinner, be delighted by your private luxury heated bedroom tent where you will recharge your energy.

Day 2LLUCHANI – ANCASCOCHA LAKE – ESCUELA (B, L, D)

More efforts, more adrenaline, great experiences and amazing views

Rise early to have our nourishing and energetic breakfast in order to complete two challenging mountain passes. Once we are ready, continue the ascent for 3.5 hours until we reach the Accocasa Pass (4685 m. /15370.7 ft.) to appreciate the gorgeous Andean landscape.

Following, descend gradually for 1.5 hours to our exclusive lunch area in Incaracay (4451 m. / 14603.0 ft.) After our succulent lunch continue hiking uphill for another hour and reach the Wayanay Pass (4627 m. / 15180.5 ft.) Upon our arrival, we will be rewarded again with terrific views of the snow peaks and small lakes. Let’s honor this milestone with a champagne toasting time!

Continuing the hike and descending for 1.5 hours through the puna region, we will finally reach the majestic Ancascocha lake (4210 m. / 13812.3 ft.) which will welcome us with its stunning dark turquoise color and also we will find some remains of ancient Inca trails nearby. The hike continues for another 2.5 hours towards our luxury campsite Escuela (3967 m. /13015.1 ft.) where, and benefit from the well-deserved hot showers and soothing massages which will be at your disposal. Then, it is time for our delicate personalized gourmet dinner and then indulge on your cozy bedroom tent.

Day 3ESCUELA – HATUN RUMIYOC - OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES (B, L, D)

Continue enjoying the magic views of the mountains and enter to the flora and fauna of the zone

This is the most beautiful day of the trek. In our 4.5 hours hike we will have amazing final views of the highlands and if we are lucky, we will see some magnificent condors which are considered sacred by locals. Enter the lush valley crowded with Andean flora and fauna, beautiful orchids, hummingbirds and more. Reach Hatun Rumiyoc (2961 m. / 9714.6 ft.) and farewell to our trekking crew and thank them for bringing all of the outstanding service.

Afterwards, continue a short 30 minute ride to reach Ollantaytambo town (2792 m. / 9160.1 ft.) As an option, you can complement your trek with a visit of Ollantaytambo archaeological complex for an additional cost. Continue with a delectable lunch at El Albergue restaurant or similar and later, board our Vistadome train. After a 1.40 hours train ride, arrive at Aguas Calientes town (2070 m. /6791.3 ft) and be escorted to your hotel.

Once you have settled at your hotel and coordinated with your guide the pick-up time for the following day, it’s time for a well-deserved dinner and a restful sleep in a luxurious room.

Day 4AGUAS CALIENTES- MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (B, L)

Life the most incredible experience you will ever have;visit the seventh world wonder

Early in the morning, our knowledgeable guide will pick you up from your hotel in order to catch the bus up to the citadel for a 30 minutes ride. Today you will visit Machu Picchu (2430 m. / 7972.4 ft.) that will definitely leave you speechless as it is a magnificent citadel hidden on the Mountains and the vast valleys.

To end your time at Machu Picchu, enjoy lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Later you will take the bus departing back to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, a representative will collect you in our private vehicle and take you to your hotel in Cusco.
