  • Train stations and train schedules are subject to availability, also due to rainy season Poroy train station is closed from January to April of each year.

Day 1CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA - SOYROCOCHA (L, D)

Prepare for the beginning of a special adventure that starts today; full of discoveries, impressive places, culture, and history. Your journey begins in Cusco, the heart of the Inca Empire. After enjoying breakfast (or a box breakfast from your hotel), our expert guide will welcome you and escort you in our private transportation. After a 3.5-hour journey, you’ll reach Soraypampa town (3920 m / 12860.9 ft). If you’re interested in Humantay Lake, it’s possible to visit this natural wonder in just 3 hours roundtrip with prior notice to the guide.

The trek begins by winding through an amazing valley, offering overwhelming panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and the surrounding landscapes. Over the course of 200 minutes, you’ll appreciate the grandeur of the Salkantay (6271 m / 20574.2 ft) and the Humantay (5862 m / 19232.3 ft). Then, you’ll reach Salkantaypampa (4154 m / 13628.6 ft), where an exquisite lunch awaits.

Continue hiking for another 2.5 hours to reach our luxury campsite called Soyrococha (4480 m / 14698.2 ft). Before dinner, indulge in a spa wellness treatment, and afterward, enjoy a fantastic gourmet and organic dinner. Your heated tent will be waiting for you, and you can engage in stargazing under the pristine night sky.

Day 2SOYROCOCHA – SALKANTAY PASS – COLLPAPAMPA (B, L, D)

Rise early to witness a spectacular sunrise, signifying the continuation of your journey filled with remarkable experiences and well-deserved relaxation.

After breakfast, embark on a challenging day of hiking. The adventure unfolds with a 1.5-hour hike towards Salkantay Pass (4638 m / 15216.5 ft), where you’ll be greeted by the imposing Salkantay Mountain (6271 m / 20574.2 ft) and the breathtaking landscapes. Celebrate this milestone with a special toasting ceremony, including champagne.

Experience a spiritual session at Salkantay Pass, connecting with the profound spirituality of this place. 

Marvel at the lush, colorful endemic vegetation of the area and descend for 3.5 hours until you reach our lunch spot, Wayracmachay (3906 m / 12814.9 ft). The 4-hour journey to the Collpapampa campsite (2870 m / 9416.0 ft) takes you through interesting sites like Andenes and Chaullay, home to orchids, bromeliads, and other unique flora species.

Upon arriving at the luxury Collpapampa campsite, situated in the cloud forest, indulge in a spa wellness treatment before enjoying a delicious dinner under the peaceful starry night.

Experience a magical awakening as you embark on a 5-hour hike, descending from heights while elevating your emotions.

In the early morning, take a refreshing hot shower and savor a nourishing breakfast. Your journey will lead you through the most beautiful day of the trek, with opportunities to admire magnificent flora and sprawling plantations. Descend into a dense cloud forest that envelops you with orchids, bromeliads, and other exotic flora.

Pass through secluded valleys with expansive coffee, cacao, and fruit plantations, and explore the farming villages of Wiñaypoco (2650 m / 8694.2 ft) and Lluscamayo (2420 m / 7939.6 ft). Day 4PLAYA SAHUAYACO – LLAQTAPATA – HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES (B, L, D)

Today, prepare for the final stretch of your journey. Begin the day with a sumptuous breakfast at approximately 5:00 am. Then, continue along the trail, embarking on a 20-minute ride to Lucmabamba (2062 m / 6765.1 ft), where an authentic Inca trail awaits.

The 3.5-hour uphill trail towards Llaqtapata ruins (2736 m / 8976.4 ft) is almost entirely covered by endemic vegetation. Upon reaching the site, you’ll appreciate part of the Machu Picchu citadel. Enjoy homemade meals at Llaqtapata (2570 m / 8431.8 ft) with exceptional views of Veronica Mountain, Vilcanota River, and more.

Following lunch, descend for another 2 hours to the Hydroelectric train station (1771 m / 5810.4 ft), where you can rest before continuing your hike to Aguas Calientes town (2070 m / 6791.3 ft). Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. Coordinate with your guide to confirm the pick-up time for the following day and enjoy a delicious dinner before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 5AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO (B, L)

Today marks the most anticipated day of your journey as you prepare to explore the magic of Machu Picchu, the most important Inca Citadel in the Americas. Your adventure begins early in the morning when your guide will pick you up from your hotel to catch the bus up to the citadel for a 30-minute ride.

Upon arrival, you’ll witness the impressive Machu Picchu citadel (2430 m / 7972.4 ft), which will undoubtedly be worth all the effort. Your knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the theories surrounding the purpose of Machu Picchu, its history, and its beauty. After the guided tour, you’ll have some free time to explore the site at your own leisure.

To conclude your visit to Machu Picchu, enjoy a delightful lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Later, you’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where a View Latin America representative will collect you in a private vehicle and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
